Managing your carbon footprint and living sustainably are habits that often ring through our heads, yet feel out of reach. How are we meant to live sustainably if petroleum-free products are four times the cost of a regular brand, and we need our cars to commute to work? While these are valid concerns, living sustainably and living on a budget are not mutually exclusive. BACE Timebank intern, Alexis Contreras, has developed a list of hacks and habits that are meant to guide the consumer to sustainable living. Some of these habits decrease consumption so low, that they will save you money!  This presentation stems from her own research on the topic and from insights gained from what she has learned through the University of Michigan’s Ecology Center.
